Introducing the Washington County Line-up:
(Patience, friends, this page is a work in progress.)

Daryl Smith picked up his first 5 string banjo in 1975 and has been playing ever since. You’d think he would get tired of holding up that heavy banjo for all those years.  He played for 15 years with the upstate NY band, Burnt Hills Bluegrass and then 4 years with the Vermont based Seth Sawyer Band before joining WCLB in 2008.  Daryl favors the “traditional” side of the bluegrass spectrum and he really enjoys the variety of material he gets to play with WCLB.  His main instrument is a 1991 Gibson RB-4 Reissue.  It’s a real workhorse in walnut.  Daryl and his wife Deb make their home in a log cabin near the town of Indian Lake NY in the central Adirondacks.  When he’s not pickin’ the five, he can be found hiking, canoeing, fishing and skiing in the mountains he calls home.

ean Quinn  Sean attended his first bluegrass jam in December 2001 and has been a bluegrass fanatic ever since.  He's partial to the first and second generation bluegrass acts, the ones his wife refers to as "twangy," Bill Monroe, Flatt and Scruggs, the Stanley Brothers and Red Allen to name a few.  He plays a Martin HD28V from around 2004, or a recent Gibson Advance Jumbo, a birthday gift to himself in 2011.  When he's not playing bluegrass, he's playing Old Time, or Irish rebel and pub songs.  If he's not playing music, he's working or, more likely, sleeping.  He lives in a tidy brick bungalow among the pines in the green rolling hills of Schenectady, NY with his beautiful and very patient wife Kristen and their two cats, Harley (think Harley "Red" Allen) and Emily.
